Shipping Methods
Ocean Freight
There are various ways for shipment through Ocean Freight
- Full container loads (FCL): 20 Ft (6 meters) and 40 Ft (12 meters). With an FCL you will have exclusive use of the container. This is also the fastest ocean freight option.
- Less than a container load (LCL): If your consignment/load is not big enough to fill a container, we can arrange for shipping with mixed commodities. This means that your goods will be packed, collected and taken to our warehouse, where it will be packed into a Liftvan and then shipped with mixed commodities to your destination.
- Groupage Shipment (Part Load): If you do not have a big enough load to fill a container and you’re not in a hurry to receive your consignment, your goods will be packed, collected and taken to our warehouse and will only be shipped once we have enough other loads to fill a shipping container. All your items will be clearly marked with your name, item number and colour coding stickers to prevent it from getting mixed up with a fellow relocator’s load. As stated above, for this option, you will need to have time on hand, as this method will take longer for your goods to arrive at the destination.
Air Freight
Airfreight is reserved for priority items that you will require soon after your arrival at your destination, or for excess goods. Your goods will be packed, collected and taken to our warehouse. The goods will be placed into a custom built “air box” and dispatched soon after your arrival at your destination (subject to confirmation or instruction from the destination agent).
Customs Clearing and Forwarding
When relocating overseas or cross border, regardless of the mode of transport, all consignments must go through a customs clearing process, which can cause delays if not done correctly.
