Why you shouldn’t feel bad about leaving Cape Town for Joburg

It’s very rare that a born and bred Cape Townian will consider moving to Gauteng. Why should we, when we are literally in one of the most beautiful cities of the world. But if an opportunity that is just too good to pass up comes our way?

Johannesburg, and Gauteng in general, is the type of place where you move to for work, rather than the lifestyle. Want to know something that is more interesting than the lifestyle in Gauteng vs the Western Cape ? It has far less crime than Cape Town. Sadly, my home city just continued with the apartheid blueprint when it comes to spatial planning. The result is that Cape Town not only has moore crime, but that that more poor people are affected by it due to the increased ghettofication

Contrast that Johannesburg, a city that overlays a rich cultural melting pot on stark urban landscape. Another interesting fact is that Johannesburg is one of greenest cities in the world due to their progessive approach to urban regeneration. It also has the largest urban man made forest in the world with thousands of trees lining the city streets.

If you are not one of those people who, by way of speaking,  take their coffee and milk strictly separately, then Johannesburg may just be the place where you will bloom. And if you are ready to make the jump, Relogistics will be there to help you make the move.
