The first step is to get pre-approved for a bond. Sellers can see that you are serious about committing when you are pre-qualified, and it gives you an idea of how much the bank will loan you. The pre-qualification certificate is usually valid for 90 days after which it will be recalculated.
Decide on an Area
Your new neighborhood will determine how you will live your life. What are the internet options, how will your children get to school and how long will it take for you to get to work? Are there shops nearby to get essentials when you are in a pinch?
List the features you can’t live without. It can include the number of bedrooms, yard size, fully or semi-detached and undercover parking. Are you willing to buy a fix-upper at a lower price point to get into the area? Consider visiting a few show houses to align your expectations with reality.
