When the artwork is renowned, the possibility of an inside job increases.
The fact of the matter is when art is moved from a secured home or storage, it becomes extremely vulnerable, even at risk from inadvertent pilfering. On the road, the work is removed from the usually multi-layered security that protects a family, an art collection or a collection of valuables.
